Looking for some new recipes to try out over break? Consider options in
THE REAL FOOD DIETITIANS: THE REAL FOOD TABLE by Jessica Beacom
and Stacie Hassing. It’s a new cookbook featuring “100 Easy & Delicious
Mostly Gluten-Free, Grain-Free, and Dairy-Free Recipes for Every Day.” The
authors are both dieticians, so they label each recipe as gluten-free, vegetarian,
grain-free, vegan, dairy-free, etc. and offer suggestions for substitutes
within the recipes which also have nutrition information appended. The cookbook
could benefit from more photos and the sections are not unique (e.g., breakfast
food, salads and side, entrees involving poultry, beef or pork, and seafood,
plus appetizers, desserts and drinks), but the recipes tend to use standard ingredients
and often require an hour or less for preparations and cooking; big pluses to
me. In particular, I am looking forward to trying Slow Cooker White Chicken Chili
with White Beans; Turkey Mushroom Lettuce Wraps; Sheet Pan Steak Fajitas; and
Bruschetta Salmon – to mention just a few. Interested? Fans can also follow The Real Food Dieticians blog
for more recipes and images.
